Natcon Scammer Warning

We want to make you aware of common scams targeting the events industry; particularly, fraudulent emails and phone calls offering registration lists for sale or “special” hotel deals. Please review the following so you can prepare safely for NatCon. 

Registration Lists

Scammers may contact exhibitors and sponsors via email or phone claiming to sell NatCon attendee lists, sometimes even using our name and logo. These individuals are not affiliated with NatCon. Please note: 

  • Our IT systems have not been compromised. 
  • No registration or exhibitor lists have been illegally obtained. 
  • We do not sell — and have never sold — our registration or exhibitor information. 

Housing “Deals” 

So-called “housing pirates” may offer discounted hotel rooms while falsely claiming to represent NatCon. Please note: 

  • No NatCon-authorized organization will contact you about hotels or housing. 
  • Do not provide personal or payment information to these parties. 
  • If you do, your credit card may be charged and there is no guarantee you will have a room upon your arrival to Denver.

If you are contacted by a company not listed above claiming to be an official NatCon vendor, please note that they are not affiliated with NatCon and are not authorized to promote or provide services. All official vendor communications and details are distributed directly by the Conference Team and included in the Exhibitor Services Kits.

What To Do If Contacted

If you receive an email or call from someone offering attendee lists or hotel deals: 

  • Collect as much information as possible (name, company, email, phone number, company address and any hotel/rate details). 
  • Forward the information to the Conference Team so we can follow up and block future contact. 
  • Report the scam to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s fraud division. 
  • Delete the email(s) and block the sender(s). 

Once notified, we will work closely with our legal team to issue cease-and-desist letters to rogue parties. We will also update this webpage to share known fraudulent attempts.
